just wondering how one goes about moving limpets from one tank to another... i don't want to kill the cute little things, just don't want them in this tank. i've read plenty of ways for getting rid of them, but can't seem to find any for just capturing/moving them.

IDK you can try the bottle trick and bait it like w/shrimp I would assume

if they are not currently attached to anything couldn't you just use a net to transfer them to the other tank? or if they are attached to something, could you move that thing to the other tank and wait for them to move off it and then return said thing to the original tank?

i did a lil wikipedia-ing on them. i'm assuming yours are saltwater?

one thing i would keep in mind is the water chemistry differences between tanks. if there is a large difference, would drip acclimation be needed and is that possible to do with limpets?

both tanks are freshwater, and i only ever see them on the glass- all over it, really. i've never seen them on the rocks or filter or in the substrate with all the snails. they came in with some duckweed that i bought for my turtle to eat, and i didn't acclimate them at all, so i don't imagine acclimation would be necessary.

i read that whatever surface they are 'attached' to, they attach well. so would you be able to get them off the glass the same way you would with an apple snail? just hold the shell part and wiggle gently til they come free? mind you, i don't know more than what i just researched breifly a few moments ago, so maybe i'm a nitwit about limpets, lol.

yeah, i'm afraid of that, cuz they're so tiny i'm sure i'll just squish them lol

i got a little bit of cucumber to try luring them off with. i know the MTS and pond snails won't mind the treat at all, and i can just pick them off the cucumber when i remove it.

There shells are pretty thin..You can loose them from the glass easily by just poking them with a stick like a chopstick. The only problem is catching them cause they fall like a leaf falling from a tree and land into the substrate. So after poking them have a way to catch them.

Limpets are super slow movers, so luring with veggies gonna have to wait a long long time lol for them to come.

My limpets :S.
