So I was watching my shrimp tank on and off the other day, and I happened to come by at an interesting time.
One of my shrimp was laying on it's side on the bottom of the tank. It was sort of thrashing around, and I thought "Uh oh, this doesn't look good." I've seen critters at the end of their life cycle before, and that's what it looked like for this little guy. About 10 seconds went by of this, and then all of the sudden, it sprung from the bottom, up about 3 inches and into a big clump of Java moss. Left behind, lying on the substrate, was the discarded exoskeleton! :jaw-dropping:
Anyway, don't know if this is a common sight to see or not, but I was quite pleased to have been lucky enough to witness it. Just complete luck and random timing.
