Just got back from the big box store - the same one that sells fish as sweet potatoes. Among the usual horrors such as bettas stacked on eachother, I saw 2 bettas in the same cup!!!!!!
I was so mad and there was no one around as usual so I took matters into my own hands and found an empty betta cup and put the guy in there myself. The crowntail got the worst of it and his fins were shredded. The must've just got a new bunch in as the rest looked good.
I'm so mad that someone would purposely do that!

wow... that is messed up

what I dont understand is this...

if these people were doing these types of things to another animal... say a dog or cat... people would be outraged and something would be done about it

but when its something like a fish.. nobody cares besides us...

way to go.

I know at my job before they use to do that to see em fight I use to get mad and they would quickly seperate them before I told management. Alot of times managers dont even know specially since if I remember correctly your talkin bout Walmart and the fish dont got camera's so this can be done without fear of being caught.

Good save! Is it possible that some kid dumped two in together to be a wise you-know-what? I know that at my evil large chain store, they are in cups on shelves, pretty much at kid level and unguarded.

good job. next time put the bettas in in the regular tanks, judging from the potato incident they would be too lazy to put them back

One time my friend and I found a crate of bettas with several columns knocked over in walmart. We set them upright and one cup had two long dead males in it. :( We had to work hard to get enough water in the spilled cups to keep the rest of them alive. Once an employee finally came around, he was concerned and helped us, but no one had any idea :(
