Yeh I was thinking that maybe get a pair but I do not know how betta's work. Just felt terrible for this guy. Figured could get him 2 females and see what happened but did not want anyone to get attacked.

I think 10g would be too small. Mine get along OK in my 30

I would keep him in the 10 by himself. He will LOVE life just having that much space. :D I want pics of the rescue! ;)

Ima do some reading up on betta breeding. Might see if I can find a blue or white female to cross these red and greens with. Would not house thw two together all the time. Just for breeding purposes.

Nope. Not until they're ready to mate and after that, you'd have to pull her out.

yeh thats what everything I have been reading is saying. Well maybe when I bring him back to College I'll get him a sorority girl.

Please, please dont put females in with males. Its basically asking the fish gods to give you a few dead female bettas.

Oh My Goodness that is one WONDERFUL BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Great save!

Wait until he makes his little bubble patch and then throw a female in there... but I'd do it in a larger tank... this way she can run away. I'd put a couple in there so the aggression isnt taken out on just one... if the female isnt ready to mate but he is he'll harasser her until shes a goner... that's what you have to watch for.

WONDERFUL FISH!

I read somthing that said to use a tank divider and watch the behavior if she looks receptive then you take the divider out. Im not planing on keeping the females in there all the time after what I have read.

Gonna need a lot of containers to house every male, though the female fry can live in the same tank.
