Some cool river finds (rocks and wood)

I still don't know if I'll use any of these. If I don't, I can RAOK them if anyone is interested.

I found this piece of driftwood in the Susquehanna river. I had to carve out a lot of it; it was almost like it was made of two kinds of wood- a spongey kind and a hard kind.

This piece of driftwood and the rocks were found in Sechler Run, in Kocher Park.

This is slag glass, or obsidian. Real obsidian is formed in the earth, but this was probably formed in an iron smelter. They often use this glass as filler rock near waterways.

I really like this rock, the shape is very organic. It reminds me a little of a shoulder blade.

I found a bunch of other rocks, but these ones were the most interesting.
 
love those driftwoods. it's so hard to find ones with caves, those are awesome.
 
I think I going to use the last rock, but Im not sure about the wood or the glass.
 
First piece of wood is very nice. The rock looks like a dinosaur bone.

thats sweet! gives me motivation for this weekend. my mom lives at the head of the bay down near turkey pt. and my fiance and I are going drift wood/rock/sea glass hunting this weekend! :-)
