Hi.

Can i reuse my fluidized bed filter? I had a problem with the canister it was connected to, So it was disconnected for a while. about 2-3 weeks

now the sand has turned dark and there's rotten egg smell inside the fbf.
the sand inside has also tunred dark, Can i reuse the sand and the fbf?

I've never had one.

But you could try putting the sand in a bucket with bleach water. Something like 1/4 cup of bleach and 5 cups of water, should work.

Let it sit a day.
Rinse well. Then rinse again.
let sit(in the sun?) and Air Dry for a day or when you can tell its completely dry.

Should be as good or better than new.

You can just use your own sand. Alot of diy'ers use pool filter sand in their fluidized bed filters.

thanks, used bleach to disinfect the sand, its turned white again, now added sodium thiosulfate, will sun dry tomorrow. I'm not sure but i don't think pool sand is available here
