As you all might have read in another thread i recently started working at an LFS and i have a customer question i couldn't answer so I'll try it on you http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/images/smilie/icon_smile.gif

is primafix safe with shrimp?

has anyone used it in tanks with shrimp?

I've read melafix is safe with invertebrates in the company supplied information however there is no mention of inverts on the primafix bottle or other info I've come across. I did a forum search and while plenty is said about both products i could find no mention of primafix's effect on shrimp.

so thanks for your help in advance!

cheers-K

hmm maybe the ones we have in the store are old packaging then, b/c it only says invert safe on the melafix.
i got a testimonial from sjinverts on the plantedtank.net that he/she used it in a 10 gallon with CRS and RCS without any shrimp deaths.

conclusion: primafix is ok for shrimp

thanks!-K

yes it is safe. In an ideal world though you would move inverts for treatment regardless.
