Great Stuff - Do you have to cover it?

I'm making a mudskipper tank using Great Stuff foam and black silicone to cover the visible areas. If there's anywhere that is not visible, and doesn't need to be coated in silicone/sand, is it safe to leave the GS exposed to water, or do I have to coat the entire structure?
 
the best thing to do would be to coat it. It's fairly soft soft once cured and it may leach chemicals once submerged.

Thanks for the link. I figured that it was pretty much ok, but I'm glad to hear from anyone that's actually used it. I don't think I could possibly seal it in such a way that at least some wouldn't come in contact with the water in the tank anyway. But I'll do my best on most of it, test it out and move the skipper in.
