My THR from Mel and my New Piece of Driftwood

I used them in my 30 gal angel tank. Not sure if I like where they are placed, I may do some more playing with them. Any ideas?

THR and driftwood look nice with the gravel. I'm not a fan of artificially colored stuff either. Only thing I'd change is the background. I used foil on my 55 for a couple years before I finally broke down and bought some "proper" background from the lfs. It's plain dark blue, but the fish really seemed to appreciate the change more than anyone else.

It actually is a black trash bag taped to the back. It reflects when I take pictures, but in real life it is black crinkles.

The fish probably like it then, they seem more comfortable with a dark background IME. It may sound silly to worry about how the fish like the decor, but they do show better colors (not to mention being less stressed) if the tank isn't too bright.

I agree with you on that one. My angels must like what I did, they are spawning as I type.

I would be tempted to move the wood to just off center and have it point out sideways...it would add a big dynamic. The holy rock is nice, it will look really nice once it settles in and has some natural tank coloring. Right now its startling white, as mine was too. Now it has some plants anchored to it and has some algael growth and really meshes nicely with my tank.

I will have to try that MsJ. It looks to "set up" to me some how, and I can quite put my finger on it. Maybe that will help.

Here is the present my angels gave me after arranging their tank. They didn't aim very well as most of the eggs are on the tank wall instead of the slate, but it seems they are happy with what I did.
