I got him about 40 days ago, He was about 10 cm when i got him (tail fin incloded0- i am not sure about its sex but i like to think about it as a male - now he is about 12 cm, In the first week he killed 2 convicts (3-4 cm), Just this evening he finally manage to kill the smallest member in the tank an albino Oscar, OK it is natural and i have no desire to play God and decide which to do what, But i wonder how much more victims that Oscar will demand, The fish is in great condition, He knows me and come to the edge of the tank when ever i come near it, He even wiggle like a dog, He loves to jump to pick food from my hand, He has a very strong personality, He is just the king of the tank, It is my mistake to put such small fish with that Bully,Anyway i love my killer Oscar and i am proud of his good condition
just i am sad for the poor fish i lost

I am trying to upload a video of him whil beeing fed but Youtube is taking like for ever

How big of an aquarium you got this guy in??? What other tank inhabitants are left??? I must say this is a very nice looking oscar love the color pattern.

I saw this one oscar at the LFS fully grown was like 14" and he had that marble look yours has at the bottom of his body but like ALL over I wanted to buy him but no tank space he looks old and has a really bad case of HITH but had amazing colors none the less.

The Original tank was 68G, But because we decided to re decorate the house ( The big project type including removing some walls and changing the floor...etc) he has to go in a 28G, I managed to find temporary houses for my (peaceful) fish but nobody wanted Oscars in his tank even those who already had Oscars:mad2:

And even worse he shares the tank with 2 other Oscars 10 cm each- one Albino and a tiger, They know their position and only fight with each other:)

He came from a local breeder, I think that after i had this house redecoration desaster over to get another oscar with the same patern and maybe i'll be lucky enough to breed them

you CAN NOT keep even 1 oscar in a 28 gallon... let alone 3

75 gallons is bare minimum for 1 oscar.. 90 for 2.. and 140 for 3

Yes I mean full grown oscars

but I wouldnt even be keeping 3 juvies in a 28g.. thats pretty cramped

as long as you are aware that they are gonna need a bigger tank... keep that in mind and prepare for it-- because they grow really fast and if you dont seperate them they will get sick due to bio-load.. or they will kill each other

I rescued one of my Os from a lady who thought the same thing you do... she said "oh.. I will get a bigger tank later" and before you know it she was flat broke... and had 5 13" oscars in a 55g.. with 2 full grown plecos... nitrate was 240ppm

Yeah ummmm wow thats a small tank lol. You do need to try to invest in a bigger tank cuz thats prob why he is so mean cuz there is a lack of territory so one will try claiming all. Just keep that in mind. I would try getting rid of them even if for free to a lfs or by puttin them on craigslist

Nice Oscar.....

I understand your concern 7itanium
this situation is only temporary till i finish the re decorating of the house, Than 2 tanks one is 68G and the other is 85G are waiting for my Oscars, Of course only one will be go to them and the other will go to the African cichlids

But really i saw a considerable number of Oscars living very well in tanks much smaller than 140G

I believe my Oscars can hold on for a couple of weeks till i get every thing in order and the big tank up and running
