here they are!!! well, they seem to be losing their spots and are getting darker. they only eat algae wafers and tropical fish food flakes, and some eat zucchini. they don't seem to touch anything else. one thing I noticed when observing them is that there seems to be a significant size difference among a few of them. about 5-10 (out of approx. 200) are half the size of others!!! you can see it in the first pic. they are all eating (and pooping as you can see) very well. in short, looking very blue now.

I noticed both of my breeding pairs "getting it on" the other day and I found a clutch of eggs so I'm hoping that it is fertile and I'll have some baby briggs soon!

Congratulations on the clutch! Be careful what you wish for though, each clutch can give you 50-200 little Bridgesii. At 2.5 gal per adult snail, that would be alot of tank/tanks to house them all. Make sure you have a plan for all of those snails.

yeah, he's right. i was going to ship off my clutches, but turns out one was laid sooner than i thought it was...and now i have to wait until these babies are big enough to ship to someone. I have over 200, if i counted correctly...

yeah, those are the "runts" i told you about. there's definitely more than three. and the dead snail count is only three, which is good. they're also small, which means they probably died soon after hatching. I think the ones that are alive now will probably all make it. can't wait till they meet your doggies!

how long until they are shippable? I know this is kind of thinking ahead, but would wet paper towels or a bag of water be better?

snoopy65

Bag with a bit of water and alot of air. I bag them individually to save their shells from bumping each other and cracking.

Oh my, that's a lot of bagging. What kind of bags can you use, just like ziplock or do they make special bags for that?

Wow, that thread (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194180&page=5) was old! Can't believe you guys dug it up :) Anyway, YES I do have updates!

They are a nice, smooth blue-gray. The largest one is 6 mm, and the smallest ones are about 3 mm. Average size is 4 mm. They like to climb all over each other and eat a LOT. Favorite food is algae wafers and tropical fish flakes! They are poop machines as you can see in one of the pictures where it is trailing on one little guy. And they have the classic blue brig orange spots on their faces and feelers!

Breathing question: do they use their siphons yet? They seem to be happy as long as I have an airline in there. And some have a weird habit of crawling out of the water especially at night (one of the picture has a couple out of the water), and the next morning everyone is back inside. Other than that, everything is normal. Enjoy the pictures!

so cute! and growing so fast!

you may want to consider making snail jello for them, as flake and algae wafer probably is not supplying the required calcium.

That's a lot of blue diffusas and some people complain they have a hard time finding one.

Sadly, they don't seem to like the jello. But last night I ordered a bottle of liquid calcium so I hope that works!

Really! I always seem to see them at the LFS and chain pet stores.
