What is this?

These just showed up in my tank in the last forty eight hours. I just started dosing with potasium and increased my flourish as per the sticky at the beginning of this group. Don't pick on the image. If I could have found a picture then I wouldn't need to ask what it is.

Looks like hydra to me. Do a google search and you should come up with lots of info. Ill look for a link I have somewhere...

Did you recently purchase or collect from the wilds, any live food or plants from ponds etc.
Years ago we used to collect Daphnia and Tubeflex Worms and occasionally would come up with some of these little devils.

NO, my plants come from PetSmart or a IFS. The only fish I added recently were Otto's and they came from my IFS.

Sorry Leapardess, it is hydra. I remembered the little creatures from biology class, just couldn't remember thier names. I don't have a lot, maybe a dozen I can see. Like I said, my plants come from LFS's and the most recent addition is my Otto's. I do feed the angles and botias frozen brine shrimp and every few days frozen blood worms.

I don't think they are going to be epidemic, are they?
