green tinted fish tank

hi all

just finished planting the rest of my plants in my 10g fishtank and got rid of the plastic ones, now i woke up this morning and as u do run down stairs to check the fish out and see what there upto to find the water in tinted green its still see throught and 99% crystal clear but i can notice a slight green tint .

is this normal ? for planted aquariums and will it go or stay not fussed just a bit worried even though the fish love running through the plants lol

i don,t have a co2 system as theres only 6 plants but am i correct in thinking this is ok ...should i get one ?

any help would really put my mind at ease thx

if its tinted green sounds like floating algae.

did you disturb the substrate alot?

and what are your parameters as in Ammonia NitrItes NitrAtes?

probably the best thing you could do and this goes for almost any situation is to do a 20-30% water change and see if it gets better.

its normal for a planted tank to have a slight tint... maybe algae, maybe tanins... it will go away

i just changed the other half of my gravel to p gravel so the other half has been a bit messed with

i did do a water change yesterday after everything was done would another be any good i aint, bothered about the green tint just the fish and thx for the quick replys

if you changed the gravel it might be algae i would let it go do your normal water changes and see if it settles.

just watch it and see if the green becomes more cloudy and the color intensifies but if im correct green water isnt a threat for fish unless its really really bad.

well i do my water changes every 3 days and vac the gravel more so now becouse i read the corsy need clean gravel and water , should i change this to a week for the plants sake

idk i mean iv never heard of more cleanings being a problem. how much water do you chang?
