Are they more prone to leaking seals compared to 55's ?

If they are made well (All Glass brand is a good one) and on a level surface they should be as safe as any other sized tank. You shouldn't have problems with most new commercial tanks, though if you pick one up used you may want to test the tank for leaks somewhere that a lot of water won't cause too much damage.
