As you probably don't know, I've been spending the past 600 years looking for a new stand for my 20L. I've just noticed Petco is selling a new metal stand. As much as I like the pricing, practicality and ease of setup when it comes to metal stands, I've always thought they looked awful and wouldn't dare to use it for a display tank, but this one actually looks kinda nice.

Just wondering if anyone is using this stand, and your thoughts and experiences on it. I think it's a rather new product, but thought I'd ask anyways.
 
Sorry,Only wood for me buddy!

The stand look's to be pretty sturdy,But I would probably face it with paneling,but that's just me. :p:

You are patient, vampie. I'm sure I would've given up and resorted to cinder blocks and plywood about 400 years ago. :)

I haven't seen this stand before but it does look sturdy and I like that it's welded solid. Not a bad price, either, I don't think.
 
I exaggerated. It's really more in 525-550 years range.

Never heard of "power" coating. Powder, yes. And is some high quality shiznit! BUTTTtttt... "power"? lol K, I'll shudup now. :)
 
What if it isn't a typo? What if power-coated meant the stand occasionally punches it's owner in the face?

Is it used at Halloween for the ugly fish or one with rabies? :lol:

I have one of the wrought iron doubles. I think they are very cheap-looking but they do the job and were free. I think the square stock will make it look bulky, but for the price you aren't going to get much better.

Power-coating makes the fish go faster!

OK they may be a little ugly, I won't use them in my living room
But i use another trick, I use the ugly Iron stand to hold the tank it is much cheaper than wood, Then i use sheets of veneer coated plywood to make a fake cabinet around the stand, It looks really nice and much cheaper than what it will coast to build a wooden cabinet strong enough to support a tank

So it isn't that ugly any more :dance:
 
But it's still ugly on the inside. Geez, no one cares about inner beauty anymore.
