Wasnt sure where to put this post but since i had pictures i figured this location. If not, please relocate thread to appropriate forum.

Now my Mated Koi Angel Fish pair finally laid eggs May 22, 09 on a piece of slate that I placed in my lightly and i mean lightly planted tank. Both angels are prrox. 2.5 to 3" in size. Not that large. The parents laid the eggs on a slate. Relocated them to the songe of the filter intake, relocated them again to the slate, them placed the fry on the plant leaves. I went on You tube and Google to find out the process in raising angel fish fry and its typical for parents to move there fry around.

There has been a couple of links which say after the 5th - 7th day, the fry will be free swimming and on there own. Its already day 10 and they still wiggle around attached to the leaf that parents put them on. Just curious if people had issues raising angel fish fry and what there take is? I already have my 5.5g fry tank running so im just waiting for when its time to place them in the tank. Also got a 4 brine shrimp hatchery's ready once there able to eat.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

See pics below.
Not the best since its my camera phone.
First pic is eggs on slate
Second pic is parents and fry
Third pic is parents a fry.
There all over the place but only a few pics were clear and you can see the fry eyes.

Baby angelfish are so cool. They don't look like angels for quite some time. Sounds like you are doing all of the right things. Congrats and good luck with them.

Have they laid before? Were they bought as a mated pair? My DD black angels would raise there own fry like discus. They would keep them in a tight little pack always defending them. It took 3 or 4 lays before they started this and the only reason I let them was to stop them from laying again. 500 fry from a couple lays can be a pleasure and a curse. LOL.

If the tank is aged they should have quite enough little stuff for the first couple days then start with the baby brine or cyclops. If you have the shrimperies set em up and let us know what happens.
