Hello all!

I just picked up a beautiful juvenile EBJD. It is constantly being harassed by a Gold Gourami that i also have in the tank. There are several other fish in the tank, none of which have been harassed by this gourami. I've only had them together for a couple of days. I'm wondering whether the gourami will ever chill out? The EBJD is obviously stressed, and hangs out in just one area of the tank right now, in fear of the constantly vigilant gourami!

Anyone else had this experience or have some advice?

thanks

Well i have separated the troublesome Gold gourami from the EBJD.
The EBJD is still hanging out in his corner, but he has eaten some shrimp pellets readily enough. I hope that he will begin to feel comfortable in the tank soon.

The gourami, whom i have named "Eddie Haskel", has a nice tank mostly to himself now!

Good to hear that you've separated the fish, Gold gouramis (Trichogaster trichopterus) are one of the more aggressive Anabantoid species, I once had a pair of these which tore a chunk out of a Convict cichlid (Amatitlania nigrofasciatus), mixing them wasn't one of my better ideas... :(
