I’ve had 6 discus over a year now and I want to make sure they survive the change. Currently in my 60 gal I have an Emperor 400 and Magnum Hot filter , 1 200W heater, pressurized C02 they tank is lightly planted and sand for substrate. I found an 80 gallon tank on Craigslist for $60 so had to buy. I also purchased a Fluval 405 and an extra 200W heater for the new tank. I read about ECO-COMPLETE as a good substrate for planted tanks and was thinking of purchasing some, any opinions on this? What would be the best way in doing the change without causing too much stress on the fish and any other equipment I should add to the tank before I make the change? Thanks

changing tanks depends on what the waterchange schedule has been like in the past for you

i use eco complete in my 125 underneath my sand, it works great but if you agitate the sand a lot while doing your vacs you will pull some of eco complete through and to the top of the sand. i like to use a bright colored substrate for the discus since some have said that their is a correlation between dark color surroundings and peppering
