I went with my parents to visit the Baltimore Aquarium yesterday. It's really nice! I took a bunch of photos, and thought I would share some of my favorites.

Right as you come in, they have a huge waterfall with these fish swimming at the bottom. Very pretty.

Northern Death Adder, from Australia. They had a whole section set up as an Australia theme.

Frilled lizard, also in the AU exhibit.

Really big Australia manta.

Rainbowfish! Banded rainbowfish, to be precise. Anyone here have these? They are really pretty.

The big guy is a lungfish.

The manta/shark tank.

They had a tank of lionfish, and info on how they are invading areas.

They have a new jellyfish exhibit. Some of the tanks were lit in a way my camera liked, and some were not. I love jellyfish, and they are easier to take pictures of than fish, who won't stop friggin moving, so lots of jelly shots.

The dolphin show. I have some real opposing feelings about these, but seeing as my parents really wanted to see it, I went.

More fishes! My camera battery began to die, so I didn't get as many shots as I wanted. I knew I should have bit the bullet and bought another battery, but they are a little pricey and I am a lot cheap.

New skull for my collection, once I figure out how to sneak it out...

More fish.

This guy was in a tank full of cichlids, so I'm guessing he is a big, ugly, grumpy version of a cichlid.
http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs049.snc1/4448_106973615736_534130736_2427109_6521052_n.jpg

Also in cichlid tank, but small and cute.

This guy was in a tank with a bunch of beautiful Kribs. They were moving too fast for me to get a good shot (especially with the subdued lighting), but I got a shot of this guy.

Some kind of very cute SW fish.

Good pix, Bio! I wanted to see the Jelly exhibit. Worth the trip? I get to the BA maybe once every two years. Their sea dragon exhibit was amazing!

The jelly exhibit was awesome! Definitely my favorite area, and my dads too. Its just amazing to see the weird little critters pulsing around a tank. My poor dad was heartbroken when I told him it was nearly impossible to keep a jellyfish in a tank. The new Australia exhibit is also awesome. Lots of herps, birds and fish. It's worth it to walk through twice, since you never know when a new bird will suddenly fly overhead.

Looks like a Julidochromis regani

I've been wanting to go there for years now. Thanks for sharing!

Lol, I actually took around 300. Buuuut, aquariums like this are often lit in a way my camera doesn't like, and I didn't bring a tripod, and fish like to move. So, 95% of them were too blurry, and I'm pretty picky.

I LOVE the Baltimore aquarium but haven't been in years. Do they still have the rain forest exhibit on the top floor?

Yes! It was really nice, lots of birds and reptiles. Unfortunately, my battery was almost dead, so I didn't get as many pics up there.

I love their open aquarium guarded by a railing where you peek down and see huge fish/turtles/stingrays/sharks :D.

Yeah, that was awesome! I bet they have to clean it constantly though, as I'm sure jerks chuck stuff into it all the time. We got to see them feed the rays, which was neat.

Yeah, he was HUGE! And VERY grumpy looking. He was hiding in the corner of the tank, and then sloooowly moved out, staring at me like "You take picture, I kill you.". LOL!
You definitely need to go see the jellys. A lot of aquariums will have one jelly tank, but this exhibit showed several species. The upside-down jellyfish were the weirdest.

I love the Baltimore Aquarium. I think I've been going there since I was about 5. We go either there or the New Jersey State Aquarium every year for the birthday.

Last time I was there, I told my cousin I was going to throw her into the shark tank from about three stories up and then she started crying. I felt bad.
