Hello everyone!
I might be getting one of these today. I like plecos and would like to add one to my 50 gallon. I was just wondering how big these guys got. I've been looking around and every I look says 6", others say 11"...so I really have no idea. Also how do they do with shrimp? They will most likely be kept with ghost shrimp, possibly even cherry shrimp.
Thanks!

Not these plecos specifically but most are fine with shrimp. Some babies might be accidentally mistaken as food but you shouldn't lose a whole colony.

awesome:)
Thank you
I've got one... "Fluffy" is his name. He is by far the most shy inhabitant of my tank. Doesn't bother the shrimp (at least he doesn't eat them- I still have plenty ;))
He hides most of the day- but then at night he comes out- as evidenced by the eaten veggies I've clipped on the side of the tank.
Very beautiful fish- seems to ignore all the little inhabitants of my tank- mine is about 4" currently and doesn't appear to bother the young 1" fish or shrimp. Just don't expect to see much activity out of him.

I went and got the last one they had at the store today. He is a cool looking little guy:) Only about 1" 1/4 but he looks awesome. I figured I wouldn't see him too much, but with if his behavior is any similar to what I have been reading, then he seems like the perfect pleco for me, other than maybe a bristle nose which I plan on getting next:).
I'll get some pics for you guys so you can see what he looks like before he disappears in my tank.

I have had them for years and they are wonderful! they aren't that destructive either so they go well in most community tanks. I have one now that I call buster.

Yes, the Pleco "Cat" Fish was named Fluffy! ;) If I were up to naming all my Corydoras they'd all have Kitty names too! :)

I name all my fish cheeto:)
Both my bichirs are names cheeto, both rope fish are named cheeto, my German blue rams are named cheeto, my striped peacock eel has no name yet...neither do my neons and kulies...
Oh and I named my crayfish after my girl friend, Joelle:)
