Hey, everybody. I just wanted to know how to breed jewel cichlids.:)

i cant tell you any specific but they lay eggs on a flat surface like a rock or a piece of slate. they get very territorial during this time as well.

That of most cichlids. You get a pair and when they are ready they will spawn. You can do 1/3 water changes to help make them want to spawn. But with my cichlids, I just let them spawn when they are ready. Jewels will spawn on a flat surface (like slate), in a cave (like a terra-cotta pot), or on just about anything available. Once a pair gets going- they will breed alot. CIchlids are cichlids!
