I have a tank fully established and still cloudy at this moment with fluorite, my very, VERY first tank :)

Unfortunately, the one piece of the puzzle not quite functioning properly is the Eheim 2213 canister filter... prior to plugging it in, I manually filled the canister itself, then created a siphon from the intake.

When I plugged it in, it made sounds like the little engine that could (it thinks it can it thinks it can it thinks it can) but the water flow never picks back up. :(

I would be really disappointed if my dang filter was down! Anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure there's no leaks from the main seal around the filter motor. Make sure all double tap valves are open. You may just have to wait a bit for the filter to purge all the air out of the system. You can help it by rocking the filter as it's "chugging". You may have to siphon water again to help it create suction.

That's all I can think of right now. If I think up of more, I'll post here.

Thanks for your assistance. I find that sometimes to shed light on one's concerns, one must place the concern in the light to be seen. Only therein can you find the answer.

In my case, I juxtaposed the piping so the siphon was connected to the intake.

...you should probably just ignore me in the future. lol..

Thank you lord, I am not the only one who has switched line to my canister. I am pretty sure we could fill a good sized auditorium with those of us who have done that. Good luck with the tank and you have found a good source of folks willing to help. Thanks to all.
