Just read a few articles about putting salt in your freshwater tanks and was wondering if that is a good idea?? Also heard you could use non-iodized or plain salt, is that a good idea?? What are the benefits of using salt in your freshwater tanks and will it harm the fish?

Best single article I've seen on the use salt in FW aquaria, by regular AC contributor RTR. It should answer all your salt-related questions.
