Well I got my Corydoras Aeneus to breed today.
I've been trying to breed Corydoras Aeneus for a bit now. The nice people over at planetcatfish.com gave me some advice to do partial water changes of cooler water to try and imitate the rainy season in the amazon, thus getting the Corys to spawn.I did 1/3 water changes (5g of my 30g) of at least 10 degree cooler water. I did this for 5 days and on the sixth day I woke up to see my Corydoras Aeneus spawning. My little male was swimming all over the place trying to get a female to notice him. The assumed the t-position and the female then laid her eggs on the heater. They were quickly eaten except for 3. I place the 3 eggs on part of a clay pot and transfered them to the 5g tank I had
setup of partial water from the 30g and new water. I then feed the cories in the main tank, and did a partial water change.
Then started spawning again. Laying eggs on the leaves of my amazon sword. I cut these leaves off, and transfered them to my 5g.I currently have about 27 eggs in the 5g. Hopefully in a couple days I'll have some fry.
