The 2 36-inch twin tube strips are too bright.....

Would a twin tube 48-inch strip be okay for coverage of the entire
6 foot tank (no live plants) that is 18 inches wide ?

The Silver Dollars seem a little skittish from about 120 watts
of light. They were used to 40 watts in a 72 gallon tank.

Thanks in advance !

I think you will have two dark ends if you put the light in the middle. If you put the light on one edge, for example all the way to the right, the left side will be dark.

Try a different type of bulb, especially if you are using the ones that came with the lights. I've just recently added new bulbs to the 120 gallon tank (Coral Reef - Color Max) that I ordered online and am very pleased with the result. They are not as bright and less yellow looking. The colors in the fish look much better. The bulbs were less than $9 each.

I just cover some of the plexi glass under the lights with aluminium foil. Makes an interesting light/dark pattern, and the fish are much more comfy.

I think your fish would be ok with the lighting they are in already. I have a funny feeling this may be a reaction to being moved to the larger tank with not enough cover. Give them some time and they will settle down and adjust to the move and new tank. There should be no need to buy new lights for your tank.
