Hi all, theres this really awsome picaso clown at my LFS thats been there for a while, hes pretty small and ive wanted him forever. I read about them online and have been debating to get him for a while. He would go in a 14 gal nano reef, with one other clown which ive grown to like alot becuase he eats directly out of my hand and has neevr been agitating to anything in my tank. Would it be wise to put 2 clowns in there. that would be my max, but im worried about if they truely are dominating clowns in the tank when they get older? anyone have experiances that would help me to decide.. thank you :dance2:

You would want to put an opposite sex in there of the same species if I'm not mistaken...this can be determined by size. Females are usually larger than males. They are sex morphing fish too, so they are born as males and may turn into a female if needed, but can't go back. How much $ is the fish anyways at the store?
I would not put a $100 Picasso in a 14G tank. Sure, it would live fine, they are hardy.. but that just seems crazy having a fish that cost 4x the cost of a tank (going by a 20G @ Petsmart for $25).
Why not go all out and get the $250 snowflake clown? Or the $700 all white clowns. ;)

I go to my LFS so much now im starting to get discounts!
That is a great price if it is a Grade A picasso. That is your LFS "cost" on that fish if it is in fact a "Grade A Picasso". If it is a mis-bar/grade B then they are cheaper, but the cost from ORA for a grade A to a LFS is $50+shipping. LFS must order $200 in fish just to be able to place an order with ORA and also to be able to order ORA corals.. their policy. So the actual price with overnight shipping taken into account a grade A picasso comes out to more like $60 for a LFS, my LFS charges $99 for them or $175 for a pair.
