Wahooo!!:thm:
I do have a couple questions, but here's what we have:

Just a note that the fogginess in one of the photos is on account of adding a little more fluorite than I'd previously cleaned to help keep the plants where I've got them now.

So, questions...

Firstly, I read online that Dwarf Peace Lily tips will fray if the chlorine's too high; this one was frayed when I got it, but I added dechlorinator to help compensate and hopefully keep it well. Safe?

Secondly, one leaf on the crypt closer to the front has started to yellow. The tank is running 2 65W 6700K bulbs (essentially 4WpG). I presume this is because of the high light and thus have turned one light off to compensate; my question therefore relates to lighting; would I be wise to buy a second class of bulb at a lower wattage and different K-reading to help find a balance between the two Crypts, the Peace Lily and the Bacopa Monneri? (that's the big guy behind the castle)

And just for comment's sake, this tank is going through a fish-in cycle with 7 Lemon Tetras; 2 adults, 2 juveniles, and 3 youngins. There was a deal on 6 at my LFS and she gave me a 7th. Happy happy! I've already observed my ammonia starting to rise a little, so I'll just have to wait and see what transpires over the next few weeks. Thanks for reading!

Nice. Keep testing with a good liquid test kit...and do water changes as necessary to keep ammonia and nitrites under .25 ppm.

im sure the lighting is fine, my crypts are brown green and a bit of yellow and they are growing great.

BTW: are you using the screw in CFLs??? if so, they may get too hot, i usualy go for the 40watt equlivint.

Oh, sorry, I never mentioned; they're T5's, and yeah, they are getting a little heated, but I've never seen the tank temp drop below 72 or above 79 (though I'm trying to work out a balance between 75-77 :P)

I love the Castle. It reminded me of Castle Greyskull on the He-Man cartoon... But your tank looks great.

No need to change out the bulb for a different K rating. I would leave just the one in there. You would have to go with CO2 and ferts with two bulbs, and your planting doesnt justify that. I'm not sure how the bacopa will do long term but the lilly should be fine. You do have pretty decent lighting even with the one bulb. Might put in more plants to take advantage of the wattage and help stave off algae.

Fine points, GMH. I've notice the bacopa waning a little... I'm not sure how to fix that. The lily's doing great, the crypts seem to be fine, and I'll be putting more plants in next time I get paid. :)
In the meantime, I'm doing daily 10-20% water changes to keep the ammonia below .25 and get this bad boy cycled. :)
