I put 10+ wpg 6.5k MH on a planted tank to see what color / growth effects it would have....here it is....... first 2 are before pix rest are after

more pix...greens are greener and drasticly noticeable growth in just 2 days.... last 2 pics are a plain green sword turning red.... its awesome

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking! I've always felt that the amount of light over your tank was directly proportional to how much you're willing to spend for electricity. (Though the plants look great!)

Cool , more power to ya :thumbsup: I can relate somewhat . I was running 350 watts MH , 110 vho, and 55 pc on my 120 along with a chiller . The tank was in a closet built into the wall and the power bill got me down :( The growth rate was awsome on it and it was really bright :werd:

It is 2 400w 6.5k MH on a 75 HEAVY plants pessurized co2 with power reactor , ph monitors the works..... I keep the co2 at 30ppm for algae control and growth and dose a dry fert mix once every 2 days to keep up with drastic plant needs.... the fish dont mind the high co2 or lights a dozen cardinal tetras 12 apisto breeders 3 m 9f and 20 amano shrimp with 4 corries

ok its hard to take a photo so far back and capture color without a flash but here i t is the close ups do it better justice
