I have a marine aquarium set up for a few years now finally the bad algae is gone and seems now 8 types of macros are growing like weeds. But I have something new popped up a few months ago. I will try my best to describe it. For starters I think it is some sort of worm. Stationary, 1 to 2 inches high, bent over, bright green on top , white on bottom. fuzzy on the tip. they seem to be healthy not bothering anything. Sorta cool to see things like this appear. Now have 10 of them. Does anyone know what this is?? Thanks all.

other than the green part, it sounds like a tube worm of some sort. I guess they could be green because the tube has algae growing on it

Sounds very cool. It's great fun to discover what comes in on the rock. Could you post a picture?

Weird. I have no clue.
You might try poking around the hitchhiker faq (http://www.reefs.org/hhfaq/index.html) on reefs.org.

Does it move, or react to touch? That looks like neomeris (algae).

Sweet, I have the same stuff growing in my tank. Grows very fast, showed up about a month ago. I was actually just getting ready to post my own id topic. Anyone know?

Looks like what??? Neo what? Some sort of Algae. Well you know I am thinking it could be an algae. Hey neat , someone else has it. Doesn't move at all. Nor react to touch. Seams to show up in no particular kind of place. I did have a large growth of macro algaes in my tank in the last 6 months. 8 different kinds and none of them purchased. Maybe this is just another macro algae.
