Hello,

I was originally going to start an aquarium in New York City, but decided that I was not staying long enough to make setting it up feasible. I am selling all of my equipment on the cheap, starting with my lighting.

This is an AHSupply 1 x 55 watt Bright Kit with a 7800K 55 Watt Lamp. I have done all of the soldering and assembly for you, and all you need to do is mount this to your canopy to use. This is brand new, and you can see that the reflector still has the factory shrink-wrap on its mirrored surface.

You can see from the picture that I have installed professional quick-disconnects from the ballast to the bulb, and the entire installation is ready to be plugged in and used.

Please contact me at slinuw@gmail.com if you are interested in this light! I invested about $80 in this light set for ballast, reflector, bulb, wiring, solder, quick disconnects.

I will sell this for $55 shipped.

Features:
MIRO4 Reflector (up to 62% more efficient than ordinary reflectors)
Electronic Instant-Start Ballast
Professionally wired quick disconnects
Plug and Play! Ready to go.

Thanks,
Shawn

Hi Shawn,(feels like weird calling someone else Shawn)

I'm local, in NYC. This unit does not come with the housing? What's the size? Looks like it's 18"?

I'm new to modifying lights, but looks like there's a lot of electrical tape involved, is it water-safe?

What was the purpose of the "quick disconnects"? I am unsure if these are features I want, and if they are safe.

Interested, but has concerns. You can PM me your number to discuss further.

Hello,

The kit comes from the factory unwired, and everything needs to be soldered together for it to work. The electrical tape just covers up these connections. I have installed many lights, and this is perfectly safe.

The purpose of the quick disconnect is to allow you to unplug the lamp from the ballast, for example if you are changing a bulb. The reflector is 22"L x 4"W x 2"H, and I bought supplies to make a housing but never got around to it. I can give you the wood, instructions and waterproofing paint for free if you buy the lamp.

Go for the 36w Bright Kit, shawnhu. That's what I have over my 10g.
