Hi to All
I overheard in my LFS today about using eheim to disperse CO2.
Has anybody heard of this???
If so, can you explain to me how it can be done???
Does it have to be on a seperate canister, set up for just CO2 or can it be done from the same Canister????

Its really pretty simple and can be quite effective although I have never done it with an Eheim. But, I have with renas and a Magnum.
Basically, you just run the CO2 output line from whatever source you use in to the filter intake. The CO2 goes into the filter and gets mixxed with the water in the canister.
Just a couple of notes: Be careful if you are using large amounts of CO2, like more than 1 bubble per second. I have had it airlock a Rena with 2-3 bubles per second. Also, this method tends to make the canister more noisy. Also, I wonder about the long term affects on the filter. You buy an Eheim for a lifetime investment and anything that makes it more noisy might not be good for the filter. Last, I like being able to see the CO2 bubbles going into my tank to check on the rate. You have to keep the filter tubing pretty clear to do that. The advantage is that you don't have to add a new peice of equipment to add CO2.

I have run pressurized co2 through an Eheim pro II 2026 since May of 02. I run a slow bubble rate- about 25 BPM- and have not had a problem. The intake has a Filter Max III prefilter and the co2 tube is shoved into the sponge. I dont get any noise from this.
