New Filter not sure

Did you look at the Rena XP3 they are quiet and easy to clean, had mine two years + and love it!
 
Hagen's are good but you'll need more filtration than just that. It says 55 gallon max but even those ratings are exaggerated. Plus, add in that goldfish generally require more filtration and you should look for something more powerful.
 
i like emperor 400's i run 2 on each of my 55G goldie tanks excellent filter and some i have had several years and they keep running like the day i took them out of the box, very dependable filters.
 
I would add a small canister...that 30-60 really isn't sufficient..good job on deciding to expand your filtration!
 
Ok, I've never used a canister before which one would you all recommend for ease of maintaining and cheapest? I'm kind of on a strict budget for my fish stuff.
 
Penny wise ,pound foolish. I know I heard that some place, so spend a lil more and be better off for it!
 
if we knew your budget amount for a canister be easier to make a suggestion - or get a good deal on ebay YOU just have to shop around to save $$$ i would suggest only looking at filters rated for 100 gallon tanks goldfish are poop machines i have several tanks of them and a large filter is a big help.
