Change the water.

Yah, change the water or don't keep adding nutrients. If you are fertilizing, buy test kits...if you don't fully understand what you are doing, then research it before you do it.

What did you add, how much, and how big is your tank? What makes you think you overdosed? This is just because I'm curious, especially since you said you're adding "I". Interesting. If you're referring to iron (Fe) and you really overdosed, the fish are in big trouble.

In any case, change ~90% of the water right away if you think something is wrong. Only add dechlorinator. The water change will NOT bother your fish at all, but sitting in polluted water will. And, as Leopardess said, read up before you dose.

Fish symptoms are mostly the same no matter what the problem is. They either hang out at the top gasping, swim differently or don't swim, or hang out at the bottom. Most of the time there's no way to tell what's wrong, and the best thing to do is change most of the water.
