Its Latin name is Pantodon buchholzi.

I have a 90 gallon with rosy barbs, cherry barbs, turqoise gouramis, black hi-fin tetras, clown loaches, dwarf plecos, serpa tetras, small angels, a blue crayfish and a pictus.

I have an Eheim 2128 canister and UGF with two 802 powerheads. The powerheads create quite a current on the surface, so I don't know how I could put floating plants in. Existing plants are artificial.

Will an African Butterfly do all right with the powerheads? How would it affect the other fish?

If you can't create a calm area on the surface, I would pass on the butterfly. It sounds like the fish would be really stressed in your tank, and they don't do well when stressed.

Sorry--they are a cool fish, but I don't think it would do well for you.

I agree with OrionGirl on this one, you definately need some calm water with some floating plants. I had one years ago and fed it live bugs that I placed on the water surface. Really cool fish, but I lost it when it jumped out of the tank one night.
