Is there any species of shark that stays small enough to be housed in a 20 long? My husband really loves shark-type fish such as irridescents and balas, but they get larger then what we have housing for. He wants to set up a 20 long that we have as a shark only tank, and I am wondering if there are any options to stock it.

Not really. Even rainbows and RTS need more space IMO.

I would think you could do a red tail shark. Th biggest they get is 6 inches.

One red tail or rainbow shark would probably be fine in a 20L.

There is a small catfish that looks a lot like the irridescents. They are schooling fish, that can be shy if not kept in groups.
They just got some in at my lfs, look even cooler than what I have seen in pictures.

They start with a D, I will try to remember the name of them...

Got it... Debauwi catfish (eutropiellus debauwi)

Well, I am attempting to lean him towards a shoal of mini moth catfish. They don't look like sharks but maybe they will make him happy lol.
