would an eclipse 3 filtration hood work with plants?
i noticed the lighting is only in the front of the tank which seems odd
it has two bulbs, T8, 18 watts each

does anyone have this hood? i read a few bad things like they leak n' stuff, any input?

I've had one over my 20 gallon long the past four years. It works OK for low light plants but the front mounted lights do make it hard to grow plants in the back of the tank.
It always leaks some around the pump and condensation can be a problem under the hood. I wouldn't get another one.

i got 3 of them and they are in the closet not being used. the design makes it next to impossible to add another filter to the tank unless you go with a intake filter. they do a great job but limit any options you want to add to your tank.

I have an eclipse tank with all low light plants - crypts, moss and anubias. Everything is lush and green but grows very slowly. I have a Rena canister filter + a visi therm heater on mine, but its a pain to adjust anything once inside...A HUGE PAIN!

-Totally agree
