Is it OK for my oscars to eat crickets (live) I cought in my back yard?

don't feed any of your pets anythign you have caught in your yard. You don't know what is on the cricket, i.e. pesticides, other toxic chemicals. Not worth the chance.

If you would eat fish you catch with them then yes I say feed it to them I dont see any problems. High in protein. :)
Not only have we fed them crickets, but even worms and baby toads from our backyard....We haven't ever had a problem yet.

We used to feed our oscars many different kinds of bugs we've found (crickets, japanese beetles, grasshoppers, rose bugs, worms, grubs no head, flies, moths, and probably more that I can't remember). They were some of the best looking older oscars that our lfs's had ever seen. No side effects what-so-ever.
