Is there a good season for them? Anywhere I go they seem out of stock. Or is it they are just rare?
thanks, E

Most LFS just don't carry them IME, but they're more common with online vendors.

Agreed, aside from some of the brackish species I don't see them at any of my LFS. Check http://www.franksaquarium.com/goby.htm (http://www.franksaquarium.com/goby) if you haven't already.

The ones i want are out of stock and have been for a while  . I was bidding on some on aquabid but I can afford $50 for one fish. I guess I will check with my lfs to see if they can order one. Thanks guys

What exactly are you looking for E? Frank's great at getting what people ask for as long as they're on his list. There seems to be a lull in the electric blues right now, but they will defininitely be back in stock at some point. This is the beginning of SE Asia's rainy season, so there may be a lull in the riverine species as the waters they are collected from swell, but the exporters have definitely learned to take advantage of the growing goby craze, so I am confident that availability of species will continue to increase.

You know, it's nice to see more freshwater gobies coming in. For a long time, it just seemed like it was only Frank and no one else.
It's a bit worrying though, that I've seen people "suffocating" them in high-tech planted tanks. Hopefully sellers will start pointing out their needs instead just screaming "rare algae eater!".

Invertz has a nice selection too. Yeah... It sucks, but rare algae eater gets more interest than fish with particularly specific set of needs.

I agree, or at least Frank will keep in touch with you. We emailed back and forth for a few months during the winter when he wasn't shipping.

Sorry, long weekend. I will try emailing frank and see what he can do.
