Is this true? i found it while doing a search on the web.

The correct and official scientific name for this fish is Herichthys festae. The genera Amphilophus is still being debated and fought over by ichthyologists and therefore the scientific name Amphilophus festae is incorrect and unofficial, and should not yet be used.

Not true IMO. Just too different from the labridens/texas group to work. One of the main things which categorize the herichthys group is the breeding colouration, which festae most certainly lacks. If anyhting, the breeding pattern is closer to the amphilophus genus. Until proper revisions are made, it stands as either amphilophus festae or "cichlasoma" festae.

In my Lexicon of cichlids 2nd edition.
The Festae falls under the herichthys genus.
I think that this debate will rage on for quite a while longer.
Until then I'm sticking with red terror.
