Is or has anyone used these yet? Looking into them, I just made a moonlight with some extra 10mm leds just for the heck heck of it and am looking into what to do with the lighting( since having a bunch of 10mm leds will not work...haha)... I'll be growing plants as well as fish.
I've found 3w luxeons in white (~8$), but the 5w ones are way pricey and didnt see any of them in white, just red shades.
What is the best way to drive these? (read...most affordable)
one way... 24v 700mA = 60 bucks
another... 12v 1400mA = ????
another???
I'm going to go with 6 of them for my 29g, i havent gotten into dimmers yet but might be a nice little addition also..
if you are wondering....4v and 700mA for each 3w white high power LED
anyone got any experience or good links? I've read alot on here mostly dealing with the 1w versions...but no 3w yet...
Also, i just ran into a question...if I drive them with 1000mA drivers(their max rating for the LED's) can i "dim" that down to 700mA or 800mA or...? It would be nice to have that flexibility...
