The Schmitter-Soto paper from summer 2007 reclassified many Central American Cichlids. Some points of the paper:
A. Convict Cichlids have been broken up into 4 species and placed in a new genus, Amatitlania

D. Neetroplus nematopus has been placed in the genus Hypsophrrys, the genus of H. nicaraguense (The Macaw Cichlid)
E. Jack Dempseys have been placed in a new genus (Rocio) and have been split into three species.
