hey,
i forgot where i was lookin and im pretty sure that i saw some place that said the name of something that i forgot and that it will eat its regular food and dead plants. do you guys know the name of any such inverts?
thanks

I believe, Almost any snail will eat dead plants to some degree. Assassins probably won't if they have a choice- and Nerites prefer Algae. Other than that though- all your commonly available snails will.

Bladders or Rams will eat your dead plants- as will many other species.

I've never seen assassins to take any liking towards dead plants. These are carnivores in general and will prefer dead animals over dead plants if they don't have a choice. As for nerites, I have not seen nerites eating organic matter either.

Vampie is correct. Trapdoors are more for ponds than tanks. They just don't favor the soaring temperature from the tank more than the bottom levels of the pond during summer. Almost all apple snails however love to eat dead plants. My diffusas, canas, ramshorns and MTS love it.
