So i had a guitar pedal for sale... 1 bidder bid on it, and I'm positive that he regretted it, and rather than emailing me telling me that he changed his mind (which I would respect ), he made a new "fake" account to outbid his bid. The new account won the auction, and no surprise to anyone, I haven't heard from him.
Is there anything I can do about it? Should I even bother filing a complaint?

You can file a dispute I believe and also relist with no additional fees.

In order to get your listing fees back, you have to file a complaint. The complaint system also gives that buyer a strike which helps prevent this person from doing it again to someone else.

Make sure in the complaint you let them know about the additional ebay account he used....

if usung a different account he will be bannished,.. both accounts,.. also if he had a low number of previous bids you can adjust your sale to a certian number of feedbacks,.. or banish that id-ids from all your further sales,..

also leave him feedback to help other people who have stuff on sale,..

would Ebay know that he created a new account?

The reason i know he backed out was because this new member made the account days ago, and bid higher than the first guy, when there was a listing for the same pedal at a lower price.

The old member has 250 pos. feedback. new one has none. This bidding ended friday afternoon... I know we're only tuesday, but I knew the old member tried to get out of it as soon as I saw that a new member outbid him.

I'll let you know what Ebay says when they reply
