Hi there,
I'm planning my 125g biotope clown loach specific tank and I was wondering if anyone knows of any live plants that do better with clown loaches?
I know obviously that they love to eat live plants for food and sometimes even de-root plants for fun lol hence their name I guess
thanks in advance,
Taylor

I use to keep clown loaches with plants. They never up rooted or ate any plants.

thank you for the suggestions
and that thread was very helpful
I have some hornswort in my tank already and it's absolutely demolished...doesn't even look like a plant at all lol
I should take a picture of the one in the loach tank and the one in the guppy tank for comparison lol
they do actually eat it though...i've seen them numerous times pecking away at it

I used to keep clown loaches (5"-6") in a tank with lots of java ferns, some anubias nana and crypt wendtii and they never bothered the plants. I would guess any of the tougher-leaved plants should do fine. I remember having a water sprite in the tank, and they will play with it and take little chunks out of the leaves now and then.

I agree that tougher leaved plants would work better. Java ferns (most fish dislike the taste of them) and Anubias came to mind. Those would work nicely also, since you could tie them to rocks or driftwood, and the fish then could not uproot what is not rooted, lol.
