Ha ha, what does a mobile home have to do with it? :) I have 13 tanks in my mobile home, and after inspecting the floor joists, I intend to set up my 75 gallon tank, albeit near an exterior wall.

My mother also lives in a manufactured home and has a 55 gallon tank.

i say go for it! not too often you find a deal that good. just set it up and hopefully nobody will notice........hahahaha!

or offer to take down one or two smaller tanks and if the occupants of those tanks can be housed together, put them in the 55?

But my BF would kill me. I have reached my limit in tanks. LOL I have just enough energy to take care of 6 and one at work. And everytime I try to get rid of furniture my BF catches me.

There are better deals out there. I got my 55 for 140 with everything and 6 piranha, which I sold at a steal for the buyers and ended up making 80 for them. So I paid 60 for my 55 full setup. I also have a 75 full setup I got for free on craigslist, and a 55 and a 20, both with everything except a stand, sitting empty on the floor of my room that were free. :)

'Full set-up' with no filter? It's still a great deal, but I'm glad this person doesn't intend on using it.

if you amalgamate two tanks into the new 55 then you would actually have one less tank to worry about, and larger tanks are easier to take care of. and the new tank would be able to take the space that the two smaller tanks would have taken up, so now worries on tossing the couch out, lol.

as for the BF, if he can't understand your passion about the hobby, then, well......... kidding!!!!!!

Relationships are all about compromise. Just tell him that if you can't have another fish tank, he won't get something that he really wants from you. That's how my wife compromises. :evil_lol:

Exactly!!!

until i broke up with my last bf, whenever i said i was getting a fish, or a plant, or a tank he always said "just do it cause i know your going to anyway and nothing i say will make you change your mind and it's your thing". now if i could have just trained him that well in all other aspects....... hahahaha!

Make a compromise and combine the tanks so you can get a larger one. I have 12 tanks, but thinking of combining some and just selling all the smaller size tanks. I found some killer deals on craigslist today

when i upgraded to my first 55 gallon back in February i took down three 10 gallons to make room for it. and then when i got my second 55 a month later i took down my 20 to make room for that. its all about compromise!

My hands are kinda tied though. I have a 20L for my skippers, a 20L for my rainbow crab who is huge, a 20L for my RCS breeding tank, a 10 gallon for my female betta who is the biggest baby I have ever seen and can't stand any current without stressing out in stripes, a 40 that has assassins, ramshorns, MTS, corys, neons one guppy and a bamboo shrimp, and my 55 that has RCS, CBS, amanos, ghosties, corys and brigs and nerites. I can't figure out how to combine ANY of them without causualties.

so build or get built for you a rack that would hold all three 20 longs stacked up, since they are long low tanks. that will make three tanks take up the same footprint as one would. the 10 gallon can sit on the end of the kitchen counter (mine does). the 40 and the 55 can be put on a double rack too, with one above the other. tada! room for at least two more tanks now! lol.
