A friend gave me some anacharis plants... they didn't look too great, so I cut off the top, trying to get them to grow outward (learned that trick in bio :D)

So, I have a bunch of little buds showing up and growing very fast, can I trim these off and bunch them together with some lead strips? How big must they be before I can do that?

Wait until you have enough plant so that you can cut about 4" off the top, and then plant so that 1 or 2" is buried. This will help anchor them better and alleviate the need for the lead.
I pull the bottom section out, roots and all, as they don't do very well, at least for me, if left in the substrate.

Hey Now,

Len, am I understanding this right that you clip off the bottom part of the anacharis that has the roots and is more brownish before putting it into the aquarium?

I just bought some anacharis today and wondering if I should do the same.

take care,
Jared
