I'm planning on getting a 20 gallon long.
I'd be using 2x 26 watt CFL's for lighting. I want to have two (maybe 3?)hanging lights over the tank, instead of a hood, so I can have an open-hoodless tank.

I found some hanging lights at Lowes (home-depot-esque) But they're just lamps, no reflectors at all (designed for lighting big spaces, not small concentrated places), so really, I dont think I have anything to go on, unless I take off the old lamps and replace with metal shiny ones (which they had just lamp hoods with sockets cut out for lights)

Any suggestions on finding these?
Or any suggestions at all?
Internet sites where I can buy them?

What about those 8 or 10" shiny metal reflectors with the clips on them like people use for reptiles? I think they're pretty cheap at Lowes. Not the nicest looking though.

Huh?
Like lamps that clip on to the side of the tank?

Oh, sorry. They're made for just clipping onto anything.

These guys:

Build a little box to mount them in...4 sides and a top (shaped like an upside down fishtank) and mount the lights in there, then hang that.

And you can get nice reflectors from AHsupply.

I WAS thinking about doing that, but then I realized the light would go everywhere and not be centralized, I then thought of the next idea, which sploke said. It's funny because I was thinking the EXACT thing that he said.

That's the plan now, thanks.

I'll be looking into this.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
