ok so I have some baby guppies now. what do I need to do to keep them healthy? should I change the water more? what do I feed them? how big do they need to be before they are safe around the other fish and how long will it take for them to get that big? how long before I tell wich ones are females and which ones are males. right now therre are 6 of them that are hiding on one side of a tank divider. there might be more hiding somewhere else that I havent seen yet and maybe more on the way.

thanks for the help
Mike

Well with my platies I just left them in with the adults. Some got eaten but I have tons of plants so some survived hiding away. The babies will eat algae, flake food finely crush and add some cooked egg yoke as well, a good protein source. There is also fry food out there that comes as a liquid. Do to the method of feeding and the fact that fry tanks, IME, get overfed, I tend to do more frequent water changes. But be careful not to throw away the baby with the bathwater, those guys are tiny.

As long as I fed my parents regularly, it was not a problem with keeping both together. But I guess when they double in size things should probably be safe. And that depends on how much they eat.
