I recently purchased the Coralife mini fixture (18watt 6700k) and later found out that it doesn't come with mountaing legs of any kind. I looked online and can't find anything on it. Do you guys have any suggestions? Also the aquarium I have is acrylic from Truvu so the top is open and I don't have a lid:swear:.

Is your light fixture long enough to use as a lid? It may just cover 25% of your aquarium at least.. Look for a plastic frame at Home depot or something. And cut it into how you want it and cover.

I use a cheap shop light over my acrylic tank, same deal...no mounting legs, and I don't want to hang it from the ceiling since I plan on moving it in a few months. I bought egg-crate from Home Depot to cover the openings and have the lights sitting directly on that, seems to work just fine. I can even fit food (unless it's frozen or veggies day) through the gaps :D

cool the egg crate idea sounds good. im just afraid it might melt the acrylic if the temp gets too hot. i've heard some people bend clothes hangers into legs but is it safe to do so?
