well im running out of room for my corals my toadstool opened up finally and is absolutly ginormous i am in disbelief at this leviathin. i kind of want an anenome but i do not know if it would be safe in my 14 gallon. just a little itty bitty pink bubble tip.

Also i have 2 grade a picassos at my LFS that are actually a pair... i adore them so much i think i might trade in my grade b and 140 bucks for them.. ive always wanted a pair of clowns and the fact that the 2 are freindly towards eachother and are grade a's is awsome for me (picasso clowns are my favorite marine FISH). i dk if they get older theyll be more agressive but they love eachother at the lfs. i dk! also if i do this i cant put the large amount of money on the sunpod i was gonna get.

and harlquin shrimp... my absolute favorite marine creature there is.. would he be a threat towards my corals?! i want one so bad.

i already know that alot of people dont think itd be worth it to have asuch an expensive fish in a 14 gal.. but you have no idea how much i like picassos. plus that way my 14 gal would really come alive!

I thought you already had picasso clowns? Who cares what grade they are... i know there is some difference between the various grades, but, really, who is gonna know? Keep the fish you have and get that darn sunpod you have been talking about since God was in short pants!!!! your coral will love you for it. Not sure about the shrimp, but I will be paying attention to the answer as I really would like one as well... between teh two of us I am sure we could google it.lol.

How is eeryting going up there in Buffalo?

haha i dc what grade they are!i have one and its the fact that theres a couple of them and theyre picassos (its just a plus that they are "grade a and 60 bucks cheaper for)... and they actually get along! hahaha i could still get the sunpod :) i have enough money now im pretty sure for both. i have been drooling over how awsome it makes the tank look at night though!

I know alot about harlequin shrimp now i just really havent read if they are reef compattible! ill try and find out.. they feeding schdule isnt to hard but i dk if one would thrive in 14 gallons lol. twice a month with a asteria star and theyll be good.

buffalo is wierd.. so much rain lately and whats bothering me is that my tank stays between 79 and 81 and the water is evaping quick.. maybe its cause i have a fan blowing over the hood but without it up but i have no idea. i keep my room cold now.. a couple fans and such

anyone for the bubble tip!?

I would strongly suggest that any BTA wouldn't be likely to thrive in a 14 gallon tank. The harlequin ONLY eats starfish. So either you have a ton (hundreds) of Asternias in your 14 or you would have to plan on buying starfish just for food for them.

I would not suggest the BTA or the Harlequin in a 14. Just my opinion and I have both, but in a 125 with the right lighting.

:iagree: A BTA in a 14G is a bad idea. 2 clowns in a 14g isn't the best idea either, but that one is at least doable, although like you said, I think your nuts to spend that much on 2 clowns for a 14G tank.. for $45 at PetSmart you can get a new 29G tank or for $30 you can get a 20G, although I can't say I would recommend a BTA in either of those sizes either. IMO 40G would be the bare minimum size for a BTA.. as always, just my opinion.

Harlequin.. no way.. too expensive to keep feeding them. Look for Sexy shrimp for a 14G tank.. :)

Conski, I saw a killer 39 gallon cube tank for $80 new just last week. The best thing is that it is 20" across (which means the Sunpod would fit). Forget the new clowns and get a bigger tank. With 39 gallons you should be able to put the bta in with no problem (for a while at least).

And, I was thinking of sexy shrimp when you said the harlequin... I don't think i have seen those... but feeding them star fish all the time would get pricey I would imagine. Now that you graduated are you going to be going to college in the fall? That is something else to consider before buying a bunch of livestock (of course you could always send it my way and I would take care of it while you went to school).

Sorry. But yes the hair algae is doing great. Was afraid there for a while that I was goign to have to start combing my tanks hair into a pompador (kinda like an aquarium version of a chia pet). But It is nearly gone. I did fiddle around a bit last night because I have a good sized dead spot in the back middle of my tank. It was full of dead algae and my nitrate are much higher than I would like right now. Pulled out a town of dead stuff. Moved the K nano around a bit and got a bit more flow, but I am afraid I am going to have to remove all my rock and rescape the whole thing to ensure good flow in the back. I hate that idea.

hahaha yes i am going to school in fall but becuase of poor choices I MADE im going to relatively cheap community college for a year near me so im saving a ton of money especially because im not paying for my schooling until i got to a university.. im lucky.

Here has been my dilema on a bigger tank thus far... if i dont buy a biocube or something with a filtering system already installed wouldnt it be best to have a tank with a sump? a sumpis much to out of my budget.

other wise i have a non used 25 gal tank? what would it take to make this into a reef tank without a **** dump

Conski, I saw a killer 39 gallon cube tank for $80 new just last week< DSR where is this? can you send me a link? becuase if i have more room in a tank i wouldnt be picassos i would just load up on corals and buy that harlequin (feeding isnt a problem i was told 2 a month would be doable)

just tell me the neccessary things to make this 25 gal or this 39 cube DSR hoepfully shows me into a reef ready tank..without sump lol

The tank is here in tulsa. It would still need to be drilled and an overflow added. So it is not an all in one. Good idea on teh community college. Save mucho dollars that way. I am still paying on my student loans and it sucks. I will be like 400 years old when I finally get that B*tch sally mae paid off.

Student loans are evil, but necessary. Fortunately the interest rates are very low... or at least they were back when I went to school (during Eisenhower's first administration). I got by with college with no loans, but law school was where i took out all the loans. What are you planning on studying?
